We've all heard the phrase "Carpe diem" or more commonly known as "Seize the day". Make the most of the moment! Yes, 'life happens'. Work is consistent, laundry never stops, diapers need changing, lawn needs mowing weekly, and on and on. The regular routine becomes mundane and monotonous. And before you know it, days, months and even years have passed. Talking to our 'senior' aged family and friends, the most common statement is - "If I could live again, I would 'make the most of every moment."
Eph. 5:15-16 (Amp) says, "Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully worthily accurately, not as the unwise witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil." In comparison to eternity, we live a very short life on this earth. God created each of us with purpose in mind. Ponder for a minute, what is your purpose? Do you believe you've tapped into it and are living in it's essence?
God places people in our life path. Whether it's for us to influence or their impact, nothing is by chance. Each person is valuable and important. If you could think of one person that has had a positive guidance in your life, who is that? Was it how they treated you, what they said, or what they imparted that made a difference? You will probably always remember with fondness their character, their words of inspiration, or how they embraced you for you. Nothing can remove the meaningful effect they had upon you.
Now think about yourself. Are you living up to your full potential in God? Is your life mirroring the image of God's Spirit? Are you an inspiration to others in a positive way? Every moment you're with people, should bring an opportunity to 'live purposefully, worthily and accurately'. Sharing His Word, giving words of encouragement and faith will empower others to remain steadfast in faith. Galatians 6:9-10 (Amp) "And let us not lose heart grow weary faint in acting nobly doing right, for in due time at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen relax our courage faint. So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God’s family with you, the believers]."
We encourage you today, to 'seize the moment' for strengthening your relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Continue in your constant stand of faith in the Lord's Word! "Let the Word of Christ richly all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace r hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
