Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, 'why am I still dealing with this problem' and 'when will it ever stop'? It probably seems like day after day, month after month, even year after year, you are faced with the same adversity, and nothing ever changes. If you're ready for a change read on!
We have to stop cooperating with the devil. Quit believing his lies, cease from listening to the words of defeat echoing in our thoughts and come to the place of freedom and peace.
Rom. 12:1-2 NKJ "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
#1) We need to present our bodies to God. Yielding the flesh to God, means we're in cooperation/agreement with Him. Submitting ourselves to God and His Word is a lifestyle that displays the attributes of God. It means we go to our local church, even when our body doesn't feel like it. Or although we're busy we make our attendance to church our priority, because the local church is God's priority. It means, we resist unrighteous or unholy actions. It's where we keep our conversation God like. That's presenting our body to God!
#2) We are to renew our mind by thinking the way He thinks. This is where we cast down any thoughts that's not God ordained. It's taking any opinion or a pondering and bringing them in line with the Word! That's making yourself think on things that are true, worthy of reverence, honorable, proper, whatever is just, pure, lovely and lovable, kind and winning, gracious, things of virtue and excellence, and anything worthy of praise. By that, we will begin to live/act/behave like the Word!
It won't matter how many times we quote the Word of God, if we're not exhibiting it everyday in our actions, the truth is, our mind is not renewed. Because a renewed person acts like it! Having a renewed mind, will make us a master over our situations, over our emotions, and even over the enemy. A mind that not renewed is immature, like a child, and is tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine. (Eph. 4:14)
Renewing the mind is a consistent process and will put you in the position of receiving from God wisdom and answers in the face of adversity and crisis.
So how can I get a renewed mind, you ask? First get into a good Faith, Word preaching church. Be faithful and committed to attend every service. Listen and then do what you're learning from the preached Word. Next as you continue to apply the Word to your daily living, remain constant in your personal Bible study. Reviewing the scriptures your Pastor has taught on. Then rejoice in the Lord.
Note: Having a renewed mind, does not mean you won't have fleshly desires - but what it does mean is that you won't run with them! Stay steady and faithful in the Word!
We have found the key to receiving peace, prosperity and great good from the Lord. Do you want to know the key? Or do you already have all the peace, all the finances or all the goodness you need? I would peradventure to say, you do not!
Job 22:21(amp) says, "Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you." There it is!
1) Acquaint yourself - become familiar with...God! Getting to know someone means spending time finding out what they like or dislike, or what's of great importance. God gave us a way to acquaint ourselves with Him. It's called His Word. Everything we want to know about Him is in the Bible. We need to read the Book and commune with Him in prayer. Those we spend time with, we become like.
2) Agree with God! Agree means to be of the same opinion. If God says, "By Jesus stripes you are healed.", then you ARE! Agree or consent, to that! Believe that you ARE! Don't allow any opinion but the opinion of God to come out of your mouth. No matter what your body feels, no matter what a doctors report says, God's Word has final authority. "For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 (Amp) By your consistent, steady, faithful, agreement will you begin to experience the manifested promise in your body. The requisite is never giving up your agreement with Him no matter what! In that way you become conformed to His will, because you are acting on/doing the Word!
Remember, confession is useless if it's not from your heart and if it doesn't show up in your actions. One can't 'think' they are healed, they must believe with the heart and confess with the mouth. Mental agreement will be insufficient in the face of adversity, and we give up easily.
Peace will come if you acquaint and agree, because you have confidence in and with God. You know without doubt that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think! (Eph. 3:20) Which then brings the prosperity and great good!
I know people want to know why trials or tribulations come. Let me reassure you, that it's in those times, we are educated by the Holy Spirit in our acquaintance with Him, causing us to become responsible to use our faith. Thus we mature in faith! So count it all joy knowing that the trying of our faith is working patience. And when patience has her perfect work we will be entire - wanting nothing!
A Dad is a person who is loving and kind, And often he knows what you have on your mind. He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends. A dad can be one of your very best friends! He's proud of your triumphs but when things go wrong A dad can be patient and helpful and strong. In all that you do, a dad's love plays a part, There's always a place for him deep in your heart. And each year that passes You're even more glad, More grateful and proud just to call him your dad! (Unknown)
Many people can read that poem and relate their dad to the spoken words. And yet there are many, especially in this day and time, where the relationship with a Dad is very much strained. What ever your relationship is or was with your Father, I hope that you can see, through the Word of God, a more fulfilling love.
The ultimate example of a Father's love is demonstrated through our heavenly Father. For those who really KNOW Him, you will totally agree. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Love is self sacrifice..it's giving of yourself to take care of others.
The Psalmist wrote, "Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down. And are acquainted with all my ways, For there is not a word on my tongue But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether." (Ps. 139:1-4) Love takes time to listen and hear the heart, to comfort and encourage.
And as uncomfortable as it may be, love corrects. Hebrews 12:6 "For whom the Lord loves He corrects, and disciplines everyone He accepts as a child." Just like we do with our own children we must correct and discipline wrong behavior. Why? Because we love them and want to see them grow up and do the right things. Prov. 13:24 says, "He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly."
If you are a Dad, I want to inspire you to be more like the Father God in your demonstration of love. Your sacrificial giving, in the things you do for your family is a display of love. Gal. 6:7b says, "..whatever a man sows that he will also reap." Love will be returned. The time you take to listen and hear the heart of your children, encouraging, comforting and motivating to never give up, is planting seeds of faith. All the discipline and correction is not pointless, no matter how often you repeat it. It is building a strong and wise child that will become a strong and wise man or woman of God.
Don't grow weary in your well doing... as the Word says, "..for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart, give up, or faint." Faith works by Love - continue in your Love and Faith!
Have you ever been challenged so much that you want to give up? You know, throw in the towel? Perhaps you have been 'battling' for what seems like a very long time. Your struggle might be financial, or physical, or perhaps it's internal: the conflict of doing what's right or giving up a specific habit. People contend with weight issues, healing matters, or just the attempt to hold on for a change. Any lengthy trial can be wearisome.
Paul wrote in Galatians 6:9 "..let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Another translation uses the word 'faint'. If we do not give up we will obtain victory in the proper time. That's the key - not giving up! Our continuation of standing in faith, believing and persevering will bring us closer to the victory we need, if we remain steady. How can I do that, you say?
The book of Hebrews is filled with examples of people that stood the test of faith and pressed through their situation onto victory. We can learn from them. Hebrews 10:23 says "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
One way to help us continue in the good fight of faith is to hold on, embrace, regulate the confession of our hope without hesitation! We must say what the Word of God says. Declaring the end result instead of what we are seeing or experiencing. (Calling those things that be not as though they were.) That's what faith is! Faith is first believing - then seeing! Continual complaining or talking the problem will NOT change it! Only faith and God's Word will! (Heb. 4:12) Gaining control over our mouth is crucial in securing success.
Another helpful aspect is doing the latter part of Heb. 10:23 "....not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..." I know, most people don't want to hear that! "Go to church, are you serious??!!" YES!! (emphatically stated!) "WHY", you ask? It's quite clear really.
First of all, attending church brings us into a fellowship of like believers. People going through situations similar to ours. (That's right, we're not the only one) Coming together, others can be encouraging, having testimony of victories along the way, brings hope.
Secondly, going to church, sitting in a God-breathed, anointed, God-inspired environment can bring motivation to press on! The minister, that has so lovingly, prayerfully, diligently prepared that anointed message, just for us, generates faith and hope for which we are so desperately grasping. Thus we are revived! Now, we can make it through another week in faith believing, hanging on, pressing closer to the victory. In fact, the triumph is within reach - we can see ourself conquering! Hallelujah!
These are just a couple of methods that can strengthen faith and encourage tenacity. And as Heb. 10:36 says, "For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise." On to victory, through the power of His Word - Never give up, never surrender!
